Conor McGregor versus Dustin Poirier 2

6th January 2021

Conor McGregor versus Dustin Poirier 2

On the 23RD of January Conor McGregor will be returning to the UFC to fight “Diamond” Dustin Poirier. It will be Conor McGregor's first fight of 2021 and it is going to be a sell out.

Any fight with Conor McGregor is always a pay per view sell out, with most of his fights being the most purchased fights in the UFC. This upcoming fight with Dustin will surely be another record breaker, and Dana White/the UFC will definitely be happy to see Conor McGregor's return.

Conor McGregor has chosen a tough opponent for his first fight of 2021. He has chosen Dustin Poirier who is ranked 2# in the lightweight division. Dustin has won 10 of his last 13 fights and he shown that he is championship material.

When asked about the fight Conor's coach said that he believes that this should be a “this should be a title fight” due to the calibre of Dustin, and how he proven himself to be one of the best. Conor has been training extremely hard and has a chosen an opponent who will push him quickly up the rankings in the lightweight division.

Now that Khabib has retired, Conor is most likely looking at this as his opportunity to become lightweight champion again. Conor McGregor is an all time UFC champion, and is a human being who has consistently shown the power of self belief, and destiny to reach the heights that he has to fulfil his full potential.

This could another amazing moment in UFC history and we are sure that there were will be huge number of people watching all around the world. These are the steps that lead to the top of the ladder, and Conor has his eyes on the belt and pay per view purse.

However, Dustin will not make Conor McGregor's journey easy. Dustin is also a fighter who has what it takes to be a champion. Both have faced much adversity to get to where they are now, and both are focused on moving forward, and being champion.

In a recent interview, Dustin Poirier has said "This is a completely different fight. We’re both completely different fighters, and I’m not really looking back at that first fight.”

“I was emotional in the first one. I wanted to hurt the guy. This time I just want to outsmart him, just want to beat him. This is business. This isn’t any ill will towards the guy.”

Dustin has matured, and is a really great fighter in the UFC. He really could beat Conor which is why this fight is so interesting, because we have no idea how it could go. But, I am sure that Conor McGregor is confident. He was confident the first time they fought, and I am sure he is confident the second time.

Conor is a fantastic fighter and he has shown this countless times. He was the first fighter to hold two belts at the same time in the featherweight and lightweight division, and he could be the fighter to do it again. Everyone doubted him, but he has never doubted himself.

We look forward to January the 23rd, and seeing the champ reclaim his crown soon.
